From the first day, 57th Kolon Korea Open(2014 October 23) 1st round was crippling due to dense fog. Due to the dense fog early in the morning, the match commenced 2 hours 10 minutes later than the scheduled time. 40 players were not able to finish the game due to the weather. In the midst of the delay, Jeon Yun Cheol, who earned the right to participate as a waiting player, took over the leaderboard's top position. He hit 4 birdies without any bogey, making the score 4 under par 67 strokes. Ham Jeong Woo(Seong Kyun kwan Univ.), a member of the amateur national team, was ranked 2nd place with 1 under par and with 6 holes left. He reduced 1 stroke and was leading the game in the first half, but he yielded his position to other player because of the bogey on the 11th hole(par 4) and double bogeys on the 12th hole(par 4). Nonetheless, the players who were classified as candidates for the champion title could not escape from the slump. Yang Yong Eun, who is challenging 3 consecutive defeats following the 2006 and 2010 championship, struggled with the difficult pin location and then ended the 1st round as 1 over par 72 strokes, hitting 2 birdies and 3 bogeys. Starting from the 10th hole(par 4), he lost 2 strokes in the first half and then hit his first birdie on the 3rd hole, but he once again lost 1 stroke on the 4th hole(par 3). However, the 3rd shot with the putter at the edge of the 'green' rolled right over to the last 9th hole(par 4), entering 2nd round with joy. Noh Seung Yul(Nike Golf), actively playing in PGA Tour, hit 4 birdies, but hit 1 double bogey and 5 bogeys, losing 3 strokes. Park Sang Hyun(Meritz), 1st place in KPGA Korean Tour prize ranking, lost 2 strokes up to 15th hole and could not finish the match.

Kang Ji Man hit, on the 2nd round held in Woo Jeong Hills golf club, 6 birdies, 1 double bogey, and 2 bogeys, scoring 2 under par 69 strokes. He scored intermediate sum of 4 under par 138 strokes and advanced one more step into the dream of grabbing championship title. Starting from the 10th hole, he reduced 1 stroke with 3 birdies and 2 bogeys during the first half. During the second half, he knocked out birdie putt on the 1st, 5th, and 7th hole without any bogey and went up to 6 under par, but did not manage to jump over the final crisis. The source of trouble was the tee shot that was pushed to the right on the 9th hole(par 4). Not being able to target the 'green' right away, he did lay-up, but the 3rd shot that was made at the remaining 60 meter spot was short and rolled down the downhill slope in front of the 'green'. His 4th shot made to the 'green', but he wiped out his sweat after hitting hole-out with 2 putts. Jeon Yun Cheol, who led the game by hitting 4 under par on the previous day and who arose 'Unknown Syndrome', finished the game as 3 under par with 3 birdies, 2 bogeys, and 1 double bogey, 1 stroke behind Kang Ji Man. Noh Seung Yul attempted drop and got a penalty stroke, but ended the 2nd round with intermediate sum of 2 over par 144 stroke by hitting even par 71 stroke on the 17th hole. Yang Yong Eun reduced 1 stroke up to 6th hole, scoring intermediate sum of even par and took preemptive action of chasing the leading group. On this day of match, 40 players could not finish the game due to 2 days of dense fog that delayed the game. Meanwhile, Na Sang Wook, who participated in the match as an invited player, had to pack his luggage due to miswritten scorecard. He hit triple bogeys on the 9th hole, but wrote down on his scorecard as double bogeys; thus, he was disqualified.

On the Kolon Korea Open 2nd round held in Woo Jeong Hills country club(par 71 yard 7215) on the 25th, Kang Ji Man, Jeon Yun Cheol, Lee June Seok, amateur Ham Jeong Woo jointly led the game with the sum of 4 under par 138 strokes. There is no doubt that weather is a variable to outdoor sports. 57th Kolon Korea Open Golf championship's 2nd round was finalized on the 25th. Dense Fog continuing since the 1st round filled the air even on the 3rd round. Eventually, it was not until 10:00 am that the remaining match of the 2nd round could start. Among the 4 joint leading players, only Kang Ji Man could finish the day 24 match. Jeon Yun Cheol, Lee June Seok, and Ham Jeong Woo played the preceding 2nd round remaining game before moving on to the 3rd round. Jeon Yun Cheol, who finished up to 2nd round 12th hole, reduced 1 stroke and scored even par 71 strokes in the remaining game. Lee june Seok and Ham Jeong Woo each reduced 3 strokes and joined the joint leading group. In 3 stroke difference joint 5th place group, Kim Seung Hyuk, who took up the KPGA Korea Tour Sk Telecom Open Champion title, and Park Joo Hyuk both scored sum of 1 under par 141 strokes. Yang Yong Eun, the 'Son of Wind', starting from the 7th hole, hit 1 under par 70 strokes in the remaining 2nd round and scored even par 142 strokes, becoming joint 7th place with Hong Soon Sang(SK Telecom), Hwang In Chun(Yamaha), and Park June Won. Noh Seung Yul ended the game as even par 71 strokes, summing up to 2 over par 144 strokes and being ranked as joint 18th place; thus, has no chance of winning the champion title.

Even on the 4th day of the competition, the match started 3hours later than the scheduled time because of the dense fog covering the field. At last, the champion group, leaving 6 holes, hung up in the sunset and the winner had to be decided on the 27th remaining game. In the midst of the situation, Kim Seung Hyuk attained the top position of the leaderboard. He, leaving 5 holes, reduced 1 stroke and scored 2 under par. Amateur national team member Ham Jeong Woo, leaving 6 holes, was ranked 2nd place with 1 under par. He reduced 1 stroke and was leading the game solely in the first half, but leading position was taken away due to bogey on the 11th hole(par 4) and double bogey on the 12th hole(par 4). Following 2006 and 2010, Yang Yong Eun, who is challenging the champion title in 4 year cycle, lost 2 strokes up to 4th round 13th hole, but, with intermediate sum of 1 over par, he is about to turn around his situation. Noh Seung Yul, actively playing in PGA Tour, reduced 2 strokes on the 4th round and scored final sum of even par 284 strokes. He became the person who looks over other player's match results. Kim Seung Hyuk, on the next day 4th round remaining game, scored par on the remaining 5 holes and scored final sum of 2 under par 282 strokes. He became the person to win the trophy. He, hereby, experienced the deep emotion of first victory in the national title championship. He rose as a powerful candidate for the 'King of the Prize' title, taking 300 million won. Ham Jeong Woo, who had threatened Kim Seung Hyuk, rose up to be joint 3rd place with final sum of 1 over par 285 strokes. Noh Seung Yul hit even par 284 strokes and ended up in 2nd place.
